Day Trip To Flagstone Dog Water Park, Jimboomba Queensland. Australia

Kim noticed on Facebook a water park for dogs, so today we decided to head out and check it out. First off we booked breakfast at Collie & Co Samford before heading south to Flagstone. A trip to Samford and back can quite easily be done in half a day, but with so much to do in and around the village, solo travellers, couples and families may like to set aside a full day to explore the hidden gems in the area and simply enjoy the scenic, countryside drive.  Lucky for us, it a casual 10 minute drive to the picturesque and hilly area.

We pre-booked breakfast at Collies & Co. which is a family run dog friendly all day breakfast, coffee, and lunch Cafe in the heart of Samford. (The Old Black Sheep Café) At Collies & Co. they are all about good food, great coffee and sharing love of their four legged puppy friends. The menu consists of many family recipes and each meal is prepared with love. There is everything to love about this café setting, with quirky sheep sculptures, outdoor picnic tables, and green grass; you will feel right at home. It has a breezy and relaxed atmosphere where you can sit back, enjoy a cup of coffee and some delicious food, and play with the border collie puppies, like Kim did.

Their puppy pen, filled with adorable border collie puppies, will be hard for you to leave once you start playing with them. For dog lovers this place is definitely heaven because you can even bring your pets and sit with them whilst you dine outside. Collies & Co. has become such a busy little place that bookings are now required every day.

It’s very busy so patience is required but the food is delicious and the puppies are amazing. If, like us, you're animal obsessed, then you'll definitely want to hit up Collies & Co. so you can snap selfies with the pups, stroke them, play with them or just generally admire how fluffy they are.

After pulling Kim out of the puppy cage we head south past Springfield to Flagstone Park.

If you and your pooch are tired of the same old dog parks, then head to the heart of Logan, just a 50-minute drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, you will find Flagstone Central Dog Park. This exciting new water park for dog lovers have some unique features include spouts of bubbly water that shoot from the ground at the push of a button, dog tunnels that weave through cave-like heaped rocks and play equipment, like tennis ball trees made of locally felled tree stumps.

Cue wagging tails, because QLD’s latest playground for dogs has found a home at Flagstone. The Splash and Play Dog Park gives pups and people a refreshing, new way to get active and meet neighbourhood friends, both human and canine.

Flagstone’s innovative treehouse-themed water play park opened mid December 2019. It will operate through the Christmas-New Year holidays.  Logan City Council partnered with Flagstone developer Peet Limited to deliver the $3.2 million facility to the booming suburb.

Facilities at the Flagstone water play area include:

A 10-metre high treehouse-style structure with waterfalls and spiral staircase

Two other smaller tree-shaped with water features

A ‘zero-depth’ watercourse through the play area with jets, bubblers and blasters

Shade structures, tables and seating

In line with Council’s sustainability policy, water use is recycled, filtered and sanitised. Evaporation is reduced through a combination of shade sails and non-porous surfaces. Admission is free.

WHERE IS FLAGSTONE PLAYGROUND?

Flagstone is located in Logan City Council area. From Brisbane city centre it is a 47 minute drive. For those living on the Southside of Brisbane or northern Gold Coast, it is much closer!
